A fast, private word unscrambler made for real players.
FormWords started with a simple frustration: most unscramblers are slow, covered in popups, and ask for your email before showing anything. We wanted a tool that just works. Type letters, see words, get back to your game.
Our mission
Make word finding instant, free, and respectful of your time. Whether you are stuck on a Scrabble rack, trying to beat a Words With Friends friend, solving a Wordle helper board, or helping a student learn anagrams, you should not need an account, a download, or a tutorial.
What makes FormWords different
Runs in your browser
Letters are unscrambled client-side. That means instant results, offline-friendly after load, and no server keeping your racks.
Built for blank tiles
Use ? or * for blanks. FormWords expands them intelligently, exactly how tournament players think about racks.
Advanced filters, no friction
Filter by starts with, ends with, contains, length, and dictionary. Get the short list you actually need.
Privacy-first
No login. No tracking of your letter inputs. See our privacy policy for details.
How it works
- You type 2 to 12 letters into the solver.
- We normalize counts, handle blanks, and check each combination against an English word list.
- Results are grouped by length, scored for Scrabble and Words With Friends, and ready to copy.
It is fast because there is no round-trip to a server on every keystroke. That is intentional.
Who is it for
- Scrabble and Words With Friends players looking for valid plays
- Teachers and parents teaching spelling and anagrams
- Crossword and puzzle fans who need a nudge, not a spoiler
- Writers blocking on a word that is on the tip of their tongue
Free, and staying free
FormWords will remain free. We support the site with unobtrusive advertising instead of paywalls or subscriptions. If ads ever get in the way of speed, that is a bug. Tell us and we will fix it.
What is next
We are building more contextual tools: a Wordle solver, Scrabble score calculator, word definition lookup, and a cheat-sheet for two-letter words. Want to influence what we ship next? Send a suggestion.
